Headspace recently revealed that half of young Australians currently feel lonely, lack companionship and feel isolated. The news got worse though with suicide rates going up in both Melbourne and Sydney.

“OnlyFriends is about connecting with the outside world again and is strictly for people in their 20s and 30s who want to gain better connections with like-minded people.

I knew it was a cause I would be passionate about. I have been isolated, I have felt lonely, and I have lost connection. If you are stuck in the isolation bubble you need to have new things to look forward to.

Jumping on a virtual catch-up to meet new friends helps create the real connection again. You're not swiping, looking at strangers and working out who to connect with. You're hitting RSVP and joining an instant friend group.

If you're in isolation, it's important you find one new thing to do each day. Even if that means washing your hair. Life is tough, but it's a journey. Everything you're going through now will build resilience and make you stronger.”
